루체스의 상속 소식에 장남인 존 벤햄 벤 로빈슨은 이메일을 통해 아버지의 상속 계획을 접했다며 "아물지 않은 상처에 소금을 뿌린 격"이라고 밝혔다. 막내아들인 모리스 리스 로빈슨은 "아버지의 결정은 전혀 예상하지 못했으며 충격적"이라고 말했다. 로빈슨과 가족은 몇 년 전부터 2019년 말까지 정기적으로 만났다.
