After the departure of Rafa Benitez from Newcastle to the Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang new Newcastle is looking at the two England ex-international players Steven Gerrard or John Terry to choose one.
According to the mirror, owner Mike Ashley targeted Rangers boss Gerrard and Nice manager Patrick Vieira after Benitez’s contract ran out and the Spaniard left for China.
But according to the mirror, Steven Gerrard rejects Mike Ashley approach to become next Newcastle United manager.
They are still looking for a new manager after the departure of Rafa Benitez, and Terry is the other option they are looking at. JT has as made no secret of his desire to enter management at some point in his coaching career.
The former Chelsea captain and legend is currently part of Dean Smith’s assistant manager at Aston Villa, and helped them to be promoted to the English premier lager via Wembley last season.
According to the Mirror, the other option they apart from Steven Gerrard or John Terry has also rejected an approach from Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to replace Benitez.
