The US Trade dollar was specially created in the 1870’s, as a "universal currency" to facilitate international commerce.
This coin pays tribute to the United State’s Trade Dollar, on behalf of the legendary East India Company.
It is a 2018 1 Pound issued by St. Helena (Royal Mint). It weights 1oz (31.1g) with 99.9% silver purity and Brilliant Uncirculated finish. 10,000 units were minted.
The reverse features the classic Seated Lady Liberty, sitting upon a throne of bales. The original design was by William Barber, Chief Engraver of the US Mint from 1869 to his death, in 1879.
The obverse shows Jody Clark's newest portrait of Elizabeth II as well as her title with the words "St. Helena" followed by the year of issue and denomination.
